Lightform Pilates is rooted in classical Pilates and believes movement with repetition and intent, builds mental and physical strength, confidence, improves body awareness and creates neural pathways to refine how you move your body and how you use your breath. Progression from practice is empowering.

Each class follows a purposeful structure that is intended to help you build real strength, control, and mobility — so you don’t just move, you improve. There is no chasing trends or random routines here. Feeling strong and capable isn’t something we grow out of or try to get back to — it’s something we continue to nurture.

Kindness is the way forward, and it is powerful. Kindness fosters positive connections and mental well-being. Acts of kindness create a ripple effect of positivity and strength of conscience and community spirit.

Every class I lead builds strength — in body, mind, and spirit. I move forward, and I help others move forward with me.

Hi, I'm Debbie

I've worked for 30 years as a graphic designer which is quite long enough to be sitting at a desk, often working under pressure and stress. I absolutely love being a designer, the places it has taken me, the people I have met and opportunities it has provided have been incredible, but it has been a vicious cycle of spending loads of energy and passion, resulting in many burn outs.

My body, mind and soul nagged at me for years to find another, more meaningful career, but I never knew what else to do, until the penny dropped mid-2025 and I decided to turn my passion for doing Pilates into teaching Pilates. I started my reformer and mat teacher training with The Pilates Professional, achieving my final certifications in January 2026, and it is everything I'd hoped to find in a new career direction.

I love teaching both reformer and mat. I love that there is a discipline to structuring a class while still having room for creativity, that there is intention behind the exercises and the value is on quality, not quantity or ego. What I love about teaching is feeling trusted to listen to how people feel about their body, and trusted to guide them through moving their bodies in ways they may not be confident to do. I love seeing improvements in ability, body awareness and growing confidence.

You can find me teaching at Encore Pilates & Wellness on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings, or from my home studio in Howard Springs (see schedule for availability).

Outside of Pilates, you are likely to find me in my garden, with my horses and/or dogs, swimming laps or working on the latest building project with my husband.

Lightform Pilates is a Student Member of the Pilates Association of Australia.

Sharing kindness...

...is a chance to spread the love (and wealth) to charities who do good things in our community.

Every time you attend a class, you can place a token into one of 3 jars, each representing a charity. Your token is worth $2 and you choose where you would like to share kindness.

Tokens will be counted every 6 months, Lightform will match each amount and donate the funds to each charity. The charities for this 6 months are:

Dawn House
Provides services to women with children in their care escaping domestic, family and sexual violence.

Save a Paw NT
Helping animals across the Territory find loving homes.

Aussie Hay Runners
Supporting farmers affected by natural disasters, transporting donated hay to those affected by flood, bush fire and extreme weather events.

The token value is taken from the cost of your class, not an additional cost to you :)
