FUSION Pilates - Mat + Reformer

What's this? A class where you can do both? Yep, this is a structured class which starts with exercises on the mat then finishes on the reformer, flowing at a steady but supportive pace. It is not a tailored class catering to recovery or rehabilitation, it is a class where we explore how the reformer can provide assistance and/or feedback for exercises that you may be having trouble performing 'correctly' on the mat.

For example, a lot of mat exercises require strength and control from your deep lower abdominals which can be really tricky to master, but jumping onto the reformer can help you get a feel for the exercise and feel for how to engage those muscles with assistance from springs and straps, this can really help identify and feel what you may not on the mat.

Is this class for you?
Totally! If you have some mat exercises that just keep alluding you, let's try approaching them from this angle. But to get the best value and most benefit from this class, it's handy if you have been attending mat and reformer classes and know which exercises you would like to focus on, and assume you have a reasonable range of mobility and are able to easily get down and up from the floor.

This class is not suitable if you are recovering from surgery, injury or experiencing more complex mobility limitations, our private or semi-private tailored sessions may suit you better, please reach out if you have any questions as Pilates is for every body.

What do you need for the class?

  • Grip socks (for safety and hygiene)
